Every year I receive letters telling me how much B.J. and his music have profoundly affected so many lives. I know many of you also have a special story about how a song or a concert has touched you. I also know how much you appreciate B.J.'s talent. I am sure we would all like to be able to give something back to B.J. to let him know how special we think he is. We would also like to let the world know that he is an accomplished entertainer who is very much loved by his fans. Well, I know of a way we can do this. We can all work together and nominate B.J. for a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame. For those of you not familiar with the Walk of Fame, it is a permanent monument that recognizes a lifelong contribution of both public and peer appreciation. Stars are awarded to artists in one or more of five categories: motion pictures, television, radio, recording, or live theater. What will it take? We will have to raise $15,000 and submit the necessary paperwork. The Fan Club will take care of the paperwork and will establish a savings account for the accumulation of all contributions. Nomination of an individual must be approved by the Walk of Fame Committee, sometimes requiring several annual nominations before an artist is selected to receive a star. The 10 to 15 most qualified, nominated artists are chosen for a star to be installed in the Walk during the subsequent year. I realize that this is a very big undertaking, but I know we can do it. It would not only be a great honor for B.J. to receive a star, but it would be even that much more special to know it came from his fans. Everyone who sends in a contribution will be acknowledged in our Fan Club Newsletter and on a special page in our web site. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A FAN CLUB MEMBER TO PARTICIPATE. The web site Walk of Fame Contribution Page acknowledging all participants will never be removed. If you would like to participate in this special project, please print and complete the Walk of Fame Contribution Form and mail it to the Fan Club. I am really counting on you to help me make this dream a reality. It is the least we can do for B.J. for giving and sharing his talent with all the world.
